“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
Spring reminds us that God often works long before we see the results. Beneath the soil, seeds that appeared lifeless begin to grow. New shoots emerge, flowers open and the landscape begins preparing for what will eventually become a harvest.
Our spiritual lives can be much the same. We pray, serve, encourage others and remain faithful, yet sometimes wonder whether anything is really changing. There are seasons when the seeds we have planted seem to disappear beneath the surface. But Scripture reminds us that there is a due season. God is working even when the harvest is not yet visible.
Jesus often used the language of sowing and harvesting because it reflects the Kingdom of God. A conversation about faith, an act of kindness, a prayer for someone, or simply living faithfully before others can become a seed that God uses in ways we may never fully see.
Spring is therefore an invitation not only to admire new growth, but to consider what we are planting. If we desire a harvest of faith, compassion, grace and transformed lives, these are the seeds we must faithfully sow today.
Do not become discouraged because you cannot yet see the harvest. Keep praying. Keep serving. Keep loving people. Keep sharing Christ. The season of planting is never wasted when God is involved.
Perhaps today is not your harvest season. Perhaps it is your spring, when God is quietly bringing new life to something you thought had been buried.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the reminder that every season has a purpose. Help me faithfully plant seeds of love, grace and truth wherever You place me. Give me patience when I cannot see the results and faith to trust that You are working beneath the surface. Prepare my heart for the harvest You have planned, and use my life to lead others towards You. Amen.
